Mexico
Parkway sent a team of 18 to Mexico with the International Christian Centers for the Deaf and MCCS in March of 2010.
We moved 11 piles of rock and helped pave the dirt road into the compound. It proved to be a huge blessing for the center. It rained the entire week after we left and the road would have been impassable without the hard work of the "Road Gang."  They worked every day in the hot sun with a tractor, shovels, picks, sledge hammers, and wheel barrows. They really worked hard.
We also painted on three different buildings for four days. We all had silver dots and paint on us but the dormitory, Angel's home, and the cafeteria received a new coat of paint.
We worked to tile the missionary's house and reconstructed two walls in Angel's home where a tornado had damaged.
All of this was great but the real mission was realized when we worked with the deaf children. They were so loving and kind.
We experienced the "prayer chair" and open air evangelism, where 51 people prayed to be saved during our time in the park. Some had never led anyone through the sinner's prayer before.
What an exciting time and awesome privilege to be used by God. We plan to return next Easter; so be saving toward your mission's trip. Your life will be blessed beyond measure and you will truly never be the same.
